Are you a creative storyteller with a passion for communication, branding, and education? Berlin Metropolitan School (BMS), a nationally accredited and internationally oriented K-12 school in the heart of Berlin, is seeking a Communications Manager to lead and develop our internal and external communications. This position is a maternity leave cover starting 1 August 2026 for a minimum of one year, with the possibility of extension depending on organizational needs. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping how our school presents itself to the world. You will manage BMS’s brand identity across digital and print channels and ensure that our messaging reflects the vibrant and diverse nature of our international community. Working closely with the Head of School and cross-departmental teams, you will create engaging content, strengthen our digital presence, and help communicate the stories that make BMS a unique place to learn and work. This role is ideal for a creative and hands-on communications professional who enjoys working in an international environment and wants to contribute to a mission-driven educational community. Tasks Manage and develop the BMS brand identity and visual communication across digital and print channels. Maintain and further develop the school’s online presence, including the website and social media channels. Create, edit and publish marketing materials, digital content and publications. Coordinate and oversee design and communication projects with external service providers such as graphic designers and photographers. Promote and document school events, programs and community activities, including basic photo documentation. Maintain and update the school website (TYPO3) and ensure consistent content quality. Monitor BMS presence on relevant national and international platforms. Support communication requirements related to accreditation processes and institutional partnerships.
